Local attractions

There are lots of hidden gems outside the popular tourist areas of London. If you are staying in Dinwiddy or Paul Robeson House you could have a lovely walk along the Canal all the way to Camden town and you can also visit the Canal Museum.

Just a few minutes walk from Alliance House is Clissold Park with great sport facilities, café and a mini zoo! There are events regularly. Please see their website for details.

A short bus ride (or a 15 minutes walk) from Manna Ash House takes you to the South bank of the Thames with many attractions to see including theatres, galleries and concert halls and the biggest screen cinema in Britain! (BFI London)

Getting around

If you need help on how public transport and Oyster cards work or what local buses to take do not hesitate to ask the residence reception.
Minicabs generally work with a flat price depending on your destination and must be pre booked. These are for longer journey for example to and from airports. For shorter journeys you can hail a Black Cab on the street and you will pay according to the meter.

Getting to our residences from the airport

There are several ways to get to Central London from the airports:

  • There are a lot of taxi and bus companies represented at all London airports so you could just book a ticket when arriving.
  • There are trains from all airports for which you can also book tickets at the airport.
  • Some airlines offer their own transfer buses and most of them give you the opportunity to buy tickets while you are on the plane.

If you need any further travel information please contact the reception of the residence directly by phone or e-mail.
